What we build
X-Installer is a free Android utility that installs complex Android package formats — XAPK, APKM, APKS, OBB and ZIP — using the official PackageInstaller API. It was created to give users a single, reliable tool for split-APK formats that the stock Android installer does not handle, without requiring root access or broad storage permissions.
The app is published on Google Play under the package name com.pasta.xinstaller, runs on Android 7.0+ (API 24), and is currently shipping in 18 languages covering more than 70% of the global Android user base.
Why we built it
Modern app distribution increasingly relies on split-APK bundles. APKPure ships XAPK, APKMirror ships APKM, the AAB toolchain produces APKS, and many older sideloaders still distribute ZIP archives. End users get fragmented experiences across stores, while developers struggle to deliver these formats to their own customers.
X-Installer takes the unifying, format-agnostic approach: detect what the user has, install it through the safest official APIs, and stay out of the way. We treat the installer as plumbing — fast, secure, and unobtrusive.
Our privacy commitment
X-Installer does not perform background scanning of your storage. It does not request blanket file access. The app reads only the specific file you select, installs it, and is done.
We do not collect personal data such as your name, email, contact list or precise location. The few network requests the app makes are limited to crash reporting and the third-party advertising SDKs disclosed in our privacy policy. Project & community
X-Installer is maintained by the X-Installer Team. New releases ship roughly every 4–6 weeks; you can track every change in the Changelog.
